looks like windows 7 will officially release like feb 2010. hope they come up with a better name than windows 7 like longhorn (beta name of windows Vista) click my egg so my dragon lives
Nope they said it would officially be called windows 7 it was codenamed Blackcomb and Vienna. Also I have heard that Acer already announced a Win7 PC for Oct of this year [link] not too sure if thats fully right but I think Microsoft will try to release before end of year to make the holiday money.

this is way too fast of a operating system switch though. much faster than in the past. at least now i can build a new vista system for much less as the software should go down in price what with a new system coming on the market. Vista is still just making it to its prime and a new system is already coming out. click my egg so my dragon lives
I personally believe the following is right on the mark With many people still opting for XP over Vista and many businesses refusing to adopt the newer operating system, many are wondering if it will soon become a forgotten release sandwiched between releases – much like Windows ME was. Vista was broken when it was released, and was still broken a year later after SP1.
The very word "Vista" makes any support professional cringe. It's basically a dirty word in IT circles. All I can say is goodbye and good riddance Vista. BOINC
"Speaking about the company's new line of all-in-one PCs, Acer European President Massimo D'Angelo said that "it won't have Windows 7 pre-loaded. We [Acer] won't be actually selling it a day before the 23rd October."
Not to leave room for speculations, almost at the same time Acer UK MD Bobby Watkins told Pocket-lint that "23rd October is the date the Windows 7 will be available. There is a 30 day upgrade time so that customers don't wait to buy a new computer, so if you buy during that 30 day period, you'll get a free upgrade to Windows 7."
Well from what i have used Vista I havnt really had any issues. I have Ultimate for when someone has an issue or question I can run it to try to help so I see somewhat what they see. I have yet to want to install games as I just dont want to have to install something again on Vista when I have it on XP. Although the DX10 games I want to buy I may end up getting them to see how they run. I personally think that had the Microsoft higher ups not tried to rush Vista it would have actually been alot like Windows 7. Also its not too soon really look at the release dates between 95 and 98 34 months almost 3 years, same as from 98 to XP just over 3 years and Windows ME was out for only a year till XP came so if you look at it from microsofts norm then Vista was a little over 2 years past due so thats why I'm guessing the higher ups tried to push it out asap they needed more money.
